ABOUT THE FILM
ABOUT THE FILM
(Pickle)ballers is a film written to fill a void that has been slowly building over the last few years. We wanted to make a truly fun, teen comedy film that families could all watch together without the fear of what normally parallels a “PG-13” movie at this point.
The story follows Max, a teenage girl who’s a bit too impulsive with her anger management. After dumping two gallons of cold brew onto a barista and destroying the shops equipment in the process, Max finds herself in a bit of a pickle. If she doesn’t want to lose her house in the legal fees she’ll have to rely on her best friends help to find another way out. And that is how Max finds herself in an underground internet pickleball competition. But the resident town bully Rachel Summers isn’t going to let Max get off the hook that easy. Through meeting a cast of mentally unstable new characters, Max and her best friends only have one thing left to do - Beat Rachel Summers stupid face in a pickleball competition and save her house.
THE PREMIERE
The premiere of (Pickle)ballers was Sept 28th 2024 at the Garden Theatre in Winter Garden. We had over 200 people from all over the country in attendance encompassing every age range from young children to grandparents. What we learned that night was that we accomplished exactly what we set out to do with this film. From the opening scenes to the end credits the theatre was filled with laughter, regardless of age.
